Tagging of photos is necessary when you want to enable searching for an event. There are several ways to perform the tagging work, but only one can be selected per an event.
Tag by filename (before upload)
When using this method, the filenames of the images you upload will automatically be used to make them searchable. For example, to upload a photo of a road race participant with a race number of 12345, the filename of the image should be 12345.jpg before uploading to Photo Frog.
To upload multiple photos of the person with race number 12345, simply follow this convention 12345-1.jpg, 12345-2.jpg, 12345-3.jpg. All three these photos will appear when searching for 12345.
Tag by spreadsheet import (after upload)
When using this method the numbers are tagged after the images have been uploaded.
In order to perform the import, a specially prepared spreadsheet template is required. This spreadsheet can be downloaded under the event in the Store Admin: Events > [My Event Name] > Photo Tagging > Download Template Spreadsheet. Note that all image upload must be completed before using this method.
Step 1: Download the photo data export file of this event.
Step 2: Open the export file with Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets and capture the numbers.
Step 3: Once all the numbers have been captured, find the spreadsheet import under: Events > [My Event Name] > Photo Tagging > Upload Tag Spreadsheet.
Automatically identify race numbers
For race events with number boards or bibs, it is possible to automatically detect race numbers from the images as they are being uploaded. A special type of event has to be created in order to use this feature, see Automatically identify race numbers in images for more information.
